Write one leaf about nodding off.

There was one time, it was around 6PM and we fetched my sister from school. She had a headache because she had a long day, so I related to her how easily I could sleep in the car. She replied by saying that she couldn’t seem to sleep in car rides, unlike me. So I said, “Well do it like I do, close your eyes…and doze off.”

So I tried it out, maybe I really could sleep fast in a moving vehicle just by closing my eyes.

Forty minutes later, I woke up and we were already home. :|

Write one leaf about Led Zeppelin.

The first time I ever came across the band was when I was watching Wayne’s World. When Wayne got a hold of the white fender stratocaster and started playing this riff, the store clerk suddenly stopped him and pointed to a sign that said “No Stairway to Heaven”.

Maybe Stairway to Heaven was kind of like the rock version of Owl City’s “Fireflies” at the time. Haha.

Anyway, I like Led Zeppelin. Dad isn’t a huge fan, but he said that Stairway to Heaven was a good song. It is, actually. Led Zeppelin is an amazing band with awesome guitarists. But…I like AC/DC better, just because their music sounds more badass than Led Zeppelin’s. Heehee

Write one leaf about changing lanes.

Changing lanes in Manila roads is an absolute hazard. You have to double — no, TRIPLE check your mirrors if a car is coming up. Or worse, scooters and motorcycles. Those just come out of nowhere.

Write one leaf about candlelight.

Yesterday, Jihan was telling me and our friends about how her ex is trying to contact her after years of not talking to each other. Her little brother answered the phone and when he recognized the voice, he asked the guy what the heck does he want. And when the guy recognized that it was Jihan’s lil bro, he asked how he was doing and how old he is (cause he sounds older) — to which her brother replied, “I’m OK. And of course I sound older, cause I’m in the 6th grade.”

And before the guy on the phone said “Tell your ate I said hi”, her little brother put the phone back to its cradle.

It’s a long story why she and her brothers are bitter about that guy. But I found it funny in a cute way how her brother sounded protective of her. Heehee.

And then I commented, “Mabe your ex is rekindling the flame…of LUUUUURRRVEEE. *wink*”

I dunno how this relates to a candlelight, but maybe it was the first thing I thought of cause I said the word “flame”.

Write one leaf about headphones.

I’m pretty anal when it comes to headphones, like the quality of it must be really good. I can’t settle for Skullcandy, because I think it’s too mainstream PLUS it gives off too much bass for my liking. My best bets are Sennheiser and Bose, and so far both hasn’t failed to satisfy my audiophilic obsessive compulsive nature.

Write one leaf about Disneyland.

The first time I’ve been to Disneyland was just December of last year. I was in Hong Kong with the whole family, and going there was part of the tour.

I remember that during this time, I was terribly worried about my thesis, because of the deadlines, requirements and such. But somehow when I got there…it was like MAGIC.

I found myself all giddied up, like I’ve somehow turned into a little kid again who believes in fairies and mermaids (I still do, but I’m sure you get what I’m trying to say here.) Honestly, as cliche as it may sound, there are no words to describe my excitement. I left all my worries outside Disneyland, because the moment that I got inside, I was consumed by a certain feeling of nostalgia coupled by a wicked sense of thrill. By wicked, I mean awesome, chumettes.

As I ambled up the park, I got to see the parade, the rides that at first I could only dream of finding myself riding, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle…

And then at night, it was the most spectacular thing ever. I was holding my camera, capturing every moment that the fireworks would burst into the dark sky. I was watching the pyrotechnics and its beautiful orchestration with the Castle’s lights, and the music… I found myself singing along, and I was almost crying with happiness. I felt like a really happy kid.

That was Disneyland for me.
