This movie right here! I watched it for the first time last Monday. Yeah yeah, I practically choked on the nacho I was eating when I saw the date in the movie release poster at the cinema, that said “December 17, 2009”. HECKYEAH I am so badass for watching it 2 months after its release!!
Anyway, I must admit, I cried a few times throughout the movie. It amplified the treehugger-ness I have in me. I cited references in Ferngully and Disney’s Pocahontas, but I’m no critic who starts hating the film after realizing how unoriginal a movie can be. I actually REALLY enjoyed it.
Pandora was BEAUTIFUL. I didn’t want to leave after seeing that. Everything is connected, and when it glows… I dunno. I drool. It’s beautiful. If I ever lived in a place like that, I wouldn’t even look for the technology that we have now. Like, everything you could ever need is already there, and the world is just spoonfeeding you. Of course, you have to take care of it.
It’s sad that Earth was once like that, pure and lush with trees. Now it’s overpopulated with people who don’t even care about the world they live in anymore, save for a few who do care. I wish people now could actually make an effort to let Earth recover from the damages that our generation and the generations before us have inflicted on it.
I think I’ll join Greenpeace. Not in their radical kind of activities, but I’m thinking of donating a few bucks.
P.S. I am a treehugger.
P.P.S. Sometimes I get furious whenever I come across Chinese medicines, like when they leave living searhorses out to dry, or cut sharks’ fins… They’re contributing to extinction, and it’s like they don’t even care. Sorry, rambling.
